10 women of instagram taking full advantage of the outdoors
I hope you like fresh air… ‘Instagram’ is becoming increasingly popular everyday, where more and more people are sharing their lives online through personal photos and words. The outdoor community in itself is growing at a rapid rate. Where outdoor enthusiasts have chosen to express themselves by posting their adventures and sharing their experiences with others. By doing so they are inspiring others to get outside, and they are inspired in return, by like-minded individuals.
There are thousands of outdoor women enthusiasts both on and off the app, who are taking full advantage of the outdoors, who live for adventure and thriving off the benefits that the outdoors has to offer them. With that said it is difficult to narrow it down to ten, though here are a few who indeed do, and have chosen to showcase their adventures with the world. In turn they have inspired thousands of others (like myself @brookewillson) to get outside, to get active and to start following their passions and dreams. Each woman has shared what fresh air does for her and how she takes advantage of the outdoors, followed by a quote she lives by. I hope you feel inspired!

Here are 10 women of instagram taking full advantage of the outdoors:
1) Tiffany @tiffpenguin
‘Being outside and exploring the unknown gives me an unparalleled feeling of being alive that nothing else can come close to matching. The outdoors is where I go to recharge and catch my breath away from the stresses of everyday life. I am truly at home in the outdoors and feel free to seize every moment that presents itself to me. By capturing my favorite moments outside, my goal is to inspire others to get out there and appreciate the wonder that the outdoors has to offer. Whether I’m out climbing a mountain or just chilling by the beach, I’m always looking for a new adventure! ‘
“Always say yes to adventure.”
2) Katie @goldiehawn_
‘What makes me want to get outdoors is more of a feeling than a reason. It’s what I hear and smell and the positive way I feel when I am outside. I don’t know if it is because I grew up being outside a lot or if it’s because all the things that make me happy are based outdoors. I know that I am happiest doing something outside, no matter what the weather is like and I find joy in sharing that same feeling with others. My advice to help others experience the outdoors is to just get out there, don’t make any excuses and just spend time outside and soon the feeling of being out there will take over and you will find a new happiness in your life’.
“There are seven days in a week and someday isn’t one of them.”
3) Elena @findmeoutside
‘Spending time outside is a crucial and essential part of who I am and the person I have become. Nature has shaped me, scarred me and taught me so much about life. There is literally no better feeling for me when I spend time outside, reaching mountain peaks, wind tossing my hair, sun kissing my cheeks, and breathing in the cool alpine fresh air. Every time I’m out on an adventure, I make sure to give myself a challenge, whether it be run faster, go higher, or stand closer to that ledge. I am extremely passionate about getting more people outside and sharing the joys of what the outdoors can do for a person. I think a lot of times, we get so wrapped up in the daily grind, we forget why we are here in the first place. Life is so beautiful, GO outside and simply enjoy it. We can all also afford to BE BRAVE \\ // If you want something you’ve never had, you have to do something you’ve never done.’
4) Mirae @miraecampbell
‘I get outside as regularly as I breathe. It’s more out of functionality for me, I find that I can’t be productive or stay inspired without being outside. Living in BC, I was raised in the forest and every weekend was spent camping so it seems only natural that I continue on the path my parents put me on from a young age. It keeps me stoked, alive and inspired! ’
“Sometimes it’s the people no one imagine anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.”
5) Elise @roundtheworldgirl
Growing up on an old dude ranch nestled in the mountains of Wyoming, I’ve always had a love for the outdoors. Throughout the years, I’ve been so fortunate to have been able to live in places that allow for a variety of outdoor sports; my favorites being backcountry skiing, backpacking, and rafting. I think it’s important to remember that enjoying time outside doesn’t mean you have to have a lot of gear or be highly proficient at an “outdoor sport.” There’s always something for everyone!
“We were not pioneers ourselves, but we journeyed over old trails that were new to us, and with hearts open. Who shall distinguish?” – J. Monroe Thorington
6) Gaby @gabatronix
‘Originally from Texas, I’ve been on a quest to find the most magical places on this Earth. A well-rounded athlete, I like to jump right in to any activity the environment offers. Always equipped with my camera I try and capture these places in their raw magic. I believe that by sharing my images and educating others especially the younger generations that they will see the magic of this earth and feel the extreme need to preserve it. ’
“I want to be magic. I want to touch the heart of the world and make it smile. I want to be a friend of elves and live in a tree. Or under a hill. I want to marry a moonbeam and hear the stars sing. I don’t want to pretend at magic anymore. I want to be magic…” – Charles de Lint
7) Spring @pebbleshoospring
‘My motivation is to keep moving as much as I can in as many different ways as I can. The landscape around me inspires me to be part of it and experience it in as many ways possible. From trail running, backcountry skiing, rock climbing and mountaineering, I hope to be able to share the energy I get from the outdoors with everyone that see’s my photos. This life is pretty rad and I want as many people as possible to see that you don’t have to be born an athlete to be able to squeeze every last drop of awesomeness out of it. Move often, move softly but always keep moving!’
“Commit or go home, but do not hesitate.”
8) Cherine @expeditionersbella
‘The outdoors excites me. It clears my mind of cluttered thoughts and helps me focus on what’s important. Life is fragile and short– yet extremely beautiful in so many ways. Seeing the ocean, trees, mountains, wildlife, and timeless lakes reminds me of it, and when there is adrenaline exploration involved, even more so. We never imagined that simply doing what we love would inspire others.’
“Surround yourself with people and places that reflect who you want to be and how you want to feel, energies are contagious”.
9) Brooke @brookegaynes
‘Spending time in the mountains has always helped me keep perspective. Distractions, fears, and doubts blur into the background, as my blessings, dreams, and goals come into focus. My direction becomes more clear as I contemplate my connection to the beautiful earth, it’s Creator, and all it’s inhabitants. As I spend time with my son on the trail, I look forward to a life full of scraped knees, gratitude, windblown hair, humility, sun-kissed cheeks, kindness, curiosity, sore legs, and wonder.’
“Patience is not passive resignation, nor is it failing to act because of our fears. Patience means active waiting and enduring. It means staying with something and doing all that we can—working, hoping, and exercising faith; bearing hardship with fortitude, even when the desires of our hearts are delayed. Patience is not simply enduring; it is enduring well!” – Dieter F. Uchtdorf
10) AnneCherise @annniegirl
‘I love exploring the outdoors because more than anything it makes my body feel alive. It is healthy for the body, mind and the soul. Getting outside is more then just good views. It offers so much. It is all about the journey of getting to where you are going, while growing and learning about yourself in the process. My goal is to inspire others to live a happy, healthy and fulfilling life. Exploring the outdoors is a limitless and endless adventure, just waiting to happen.’
“Logic will get from A to B, imagination will take you everywhere”. – Albert Einstein
